South Australian Institute of Business and Technology (SAIBT) SAIBT forms part of a network of Institutes of Business and Technology, each of which is linked to a university in its own capital city. The network provides educational opportunities and university pathways for both Australian and international students. A SAIBT Diploma in Business or Diploma in Computing and Information Technology is a nationally recognised qualification. Successful completion of a SAIBT Diploma guarantees entry into second year of any of the bachelor degrees in Business or Computing and Information Technology at the University of South Australia. The SAIBT diploma programs are the same as first year bachelor degree programs at the University of South Australia and are also recognised by other universities throughout Australia for the purpose of entry with advanced standing. The SAIBT advantages provide students with a highly cost-effective pathway to a University Bachelor degree. The distinguishing feature of SAIBT programs is their flexibility, which enables students to tailor their program according to their particular needs. Three intake dates per year — February, June and October — means that students can study over the summer vacation, thus saving valuable time and money. SAIBT also guarantees a very quick turnaround — your application will receive immediate attention and you will normally be advised of the outcome within 24 hours. SAIBT programs are offered in the peaceful, safe and friendly environment of Adelaide - a city conducive to the undertaking of serious study. But Adelaide is also a lively city with lots of exciting events happening regularly throughout the year. Adelaide's modern economy is built on strengths in the computing, electronics
and manufacturing industries. Adelaide's Technology Park hosts more than
sixty high-tech companies such as Motorola, Telstra, (the national telecommunications
carrier) and BAE Systems which is an international defence equipment
manufacturer. Adelaide is a major automotive production centre, producing
General Motors and Mitsubishi motor vehicles, supported by a myriad of
automotive components companies. Adelaide is also Australia's national
defence centre, producing submarines for the Royal Australian Navy, and
undertaking defence research and development, mainly in electronics,
at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), which employs
over 2,000 scientists. All programs offered by SAIBT are accredited as appropriate by the Accreditation and Registration Council (ARC) and endorsed by the University of South Australia. SAIBT offers a number of programs incorporating English language for international students who need to improve their English language proficiency. Pre university level program University level programs SAIBT provides a large range of services such as academic counselling, extra support in mathematics and English language, guidance and guardianship when required. In addition, students are introduced to the University of South Australia second year programs and campuses in the final weeks before graduation. SAIBT students have all the advantages of a university environment with the extra care and attention that comes as a member of a specialist institution. SAIBT advantages SAIBT Diploma programs are equivalent to first year university comprising the same eight courses offered by UniSA SAIBT Diploma programs are recognised by universities throughout Australia
enabling students to seek advanced standing in relevant degree programs
at Australian universities. SAIBT academic entry levels for Australian, international and mature age students are more flexible than direct entry into university. By studying on a university campus, SAIBT students have access the full range of university services and facilities (e.g. computer suites, library services etc) and are able to familiarise themselves with the campus and university lifestyle, enabling smoother transition into university studies SAIBT students have the benefit of small group teaching and individual
attention with typically 20 students per class. Academic staff are also
available for one-to-one consultation on a regular basis SAIBT has three intakes per year (March, June and October) unlike most university programs which have only two intakes per year. This provides students with increased flexibility in deciding when to start and finish their program. Students can complete SAIBT Certificate IV and Diploma programs in just two semesters (eight months) or spread the program over three semesters (12 months). Flexible timetables enable students to study part-time* or to incorporate employment or other commitments with full-time study. Classes are scheduled in the Certificate IV and Diploma on a 'block' basis providing students with the opportunity to attend for half-day sessions rather than several shorter periods throughout the week SAIBT students can complete the degree of their choice much sooner than would otherwise be possible by alternative pathways, with the chance to enter the workforce earlier. SAIBT is located in the city centre of Adelaide providing easy and convenient access to the business and commercial heart of the state capital. SAIBT provides support services to students who require additional English language, study support or Mathematics assistance. Academic course advice and assistance is also readily available to students from highly qualified academic staff. International students can save time and money by following the SAIBT Study pathways, and tuition fees for local students compare favourably with HECS fees |
