Monash: a quality university
Monash's longstanding reputation for the quality of its academic programs, research outcomes and community service was confirmed in the quality reviews conducted by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Higher Education between 1994 and 1995. These reviews saw Monash emerge as one of only three Australian universities to be ranked in the top group for each of the three core university functions of teaching, research outcomes and community service.

Graduates are the human face of a quality university. Among many distinguished alumni from every discipline area are: Peter Costello (Australian Treasurer), Rev Tim Costello (social reformer), Simon Crean (Australian Labour Party leader), Margaret Jackson (Chairman, Qantas), Ian Macfarlane (Governor, Reserve Bank of Australia), Paul McNamee (tennis player and convener of the Australian Open), Senator Kaye Patterson (Minister for Health and Ageing), Pasuk Phongpaichit (noted Thai economist), Teo Ming Kian (Chairman, Singapore Economic Development Board), Alan Ramadan (Director, Macromedia), Tan Sri Dato' Dr Abu Bakar Suleiman (former Director-General of Health, Malaysia), Beth Wilson (Health Services Commissioner), Ester Erlich (artist and Archibald Prize People's Choice winner), Sandra Webb (Managing Director, AMRAD Corp)
