THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE

Student life
Adelaide is a friendly and safe city with a population of 1.2 million, who enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. It is one of Australia’s more affordable cities, with average weekly expenses lower than most of the other major cities.

The University’s population of approximately 19000 includes more than 4000 international students from over 90 countries. They enjoy facilities including cafeterias with international food, student associations and, sporting and gym facilities

The location of the University’s main campus in the central business district, allows students to enjoy the cafés of Rundle Street, the attractive parklands surrounding the city, the cultural boulevard of North Terrace and the shopping district of Rundle Mall. The other campuses are devoted to specialised study - Agriculture at Roseworthy Campus and a cluster of highly regarded Plant, Soil and Environmental Science facilities at Waite Campus. Thebarton Campus is an industry research precinct.

Support Services
The University’s International Student Centre provides on-arrival reception, enrolment and orientation assistance, as well as help with cultural and social support. An active Overseas Students’ Association provides social, cultural and peer support to all international students at the University.

Other student needs are met with services in accommodation, health, counselling, finance, education and welfare, childcare, language and study skills.

Accommodation
The University offers a range of modern accommodation options including The University of Adelaide Village, and CITI Townhouses. Additionally, there are four residential colleges just 10 minutes walk from the North Terrace campus.

Full board, room only, share house, hostel and private rental accommodation are also available throughout Adelaide. South Australia also offers international students a concession card for public transport.
